Oscillogy®
LLC is a small business devoted to the manufacturing of equipment and instruments for physiology research, with
a primary emphasis on pulmonary physiology. A privately held Pennsylvania company, Oscillogy has been operating in the Philadelphia
area since its founding in 2003.
A major emphasis of Oscillogy’s endeavors is the engineering and technical development
of very early stage and novel technologies, advancing them from laboratory bench demonstrations to early stage commercial
products. Oscillogy sells prototypes as well as finished products to investigators interested in adopting and applying these
new technologies in their research.
Very early stage technologies often require highly specialized technical skills
and training for proper operation and results. A prominent feature of the technical development at Oscillogy is the automation
of these technologies to make them more widely available to the broader research community.
Prior to directing Oscillogy,
Dr. James E. Baumgardner was a practicing anesthesiologist in an academic setting, as well as a basic scientist exploring
pulmonary physiology and pathophysiology. As a result, Oscillogy has a real-world understanding of the sorts of tools that
will enhance bench level research. The past experience of Oscillogy’s leadership also imparts an appreciation for issues
that arise for the researcher implementing new technologies.
